Downtown/Riverfront Streetcar Project, Sacramento and West Sacramento, California
Existing Settings Report / CEQA Impacts Analysis
JRP prepared an existing setting report and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Impacts Analysis for the creation of a streetcar line from West Sacramento to Downtown Sacramento. The streetcar line incorporates the National Register of Historic Places listed Tower Bridge designed to connect the two communities via early twentieth century streetcars. Impacts analysis on this significant structure included evaluation of cumulative impacts upon the bridge from previous projects along with the anticipated effects of the proposed action. In addition, the route traverses the core of the two communities including the Capitol Mall and the K Street Mall. Historic land use study included the redevelopment of east Sacramento in the mid twentieth century creating the Capitol Mall, influenced by the designs State Architect Alfred Eichler.
Prepared for URS Corporation for the City of West Sacramento, 2007-2008.
