Historic Resources Evaluation Report and Archaeological Survey Report

JRP prepared a Historic Resources Evaluation Report (HRER) and historic background for an Archaeological Survey Report (ASR) for 11.2 miles of Highway 101 expansion to 6 lanes from Milpas Exit in Santa Barbara south to Santa Barbara / Ventura County line as part of a multi-year highway improvement project. The document assisted Caltrans to comply with applicable sections of the National Historic Preservation Act and the implementing regulations of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) as these pertain to federally funded undertakings and their impacts on historic properties. The historic architectural Study Area for the project included nearly 100 legal parcels with buildings, groups of buildings, structures, or objects constructed in or before 1969 within the communities of Carpinteria, Summerland, Santa Barbara and Montecito.  To date, the study has concluded that 11 properties appear to meet the criteria for listing in the National and California registers.

Prepared for California Department of Transportation, District 5, San Luis Obispo, 2008-On Going.
