Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit Study
Historic Resources Inventory and Evaluation Report
JRP prepared an Historic Resources Inventory and Evaluation Report for the Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit Project in San Francisco, California for project compliance with National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 and the California Environmental Quality Act. The project proposes to implement bus rapid transit services along approximately two miles of the Van Ness Avenue corridor, a major San Francisco transportation artery. The Area of Potential Effects for the project includes 30 resources, many of which were early twentieth century automobile showrooms and garages representative of Van Ness’ prominent “Auto Row” identity. Other resources reflected a diverse array of urban property types, including residential, civic, and fraternal architecture.
Prepared for San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA), 2008-2009.
